Mahlon Otero, Founder
After discovering a passion for fixing computers and solving tech problems during his college years, Mahlon Otero founded Shivelight in 2018 because he wanted to create a different kind of IT company; one offering personal service while making IT easy to understand.
Today, the Shivelight team has grown to include additional tech and support staff, but the mission remains the same: “Our goal is to take the stress out of IT for business owners and their employees, so they can focus on what they do best,” he says.
When he’s not serving clients, Mahlon enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his wife and Shivelight co-founder, Alison.
What does “Shivelight” mean?
Originally coined by poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, “Shivelight” describes the lances of sunshine that pierce the canopy of a forest. At Shivelight, we strive to be a similar kind of light, one that creates value, builds relationships, and supports small businesses within the community.
